.mat to .dat conversion

Is there a way to convert the Matlab .mat dataset file to Gauss .dat dataset format except Stat/transfer program? It works but it is not cheap that I can afford.

I found free AM statistical program that converts so many files to each other but it has some bugs prevents converting .mat to .dat.

What about simply copy and paste? You open the Matlab dataset in Matlab, select the whole matrix, and then paste into Gauss' data editor.

Or you can use paste the data into Excel which can be read by Gauss.
