Gauss_Initialize error code 488

The shared library gauss.dll (or libgauss.so, or libgauss.dylib) should be in the same directory as mteng.dll (or libmteng.so, or libmteng.dylib).

If it IS in the same directory as mteng.dll or is being found, then the problem may be that gauss.dll does not have all of its dependencies. I believe for version 13 of the GAUSS Engine, the only extra dependency for gauss.dll is libxl.dll. You can use the free third-party tool Depends.exe (easily found with a quick internet search) to check the dependencies of gauss.dll.

Error code 488 means that the main GAUSS shared library cannot be found. This library is called gauss.dll on Windows, libgauss.so on Linux and libgauss.dylib on Mac.

Actually, it was in the right directory.

Chacking dependencies using dépends.exe I get the following result :
