I am running code in Gauss using the Maxlik procedure, using multiple threads to speed up computation. Since two weeks, performance has slowed down dramatically: the code (same code, tested on the same dataset) takes almost ten times as long as before.
Did anyone have a similar experience? Could it be incompatibility with updates for Windows, virus scanners, ...? Any suggestions on how to recover my speed again would be more than welcome. Thank you.

The first thing I would try is to reboot your computer. Also, are you using Maxlik, or MaxlikMT? Are the threads inside your likelihood function ? Which version of GAUSS are you running?
